Marlon and Brandi Austria

"Serving Country, Community and Family. God Bless America"

Marlon and Brandi Austria

Like every human spirit, we have a passion and desire that must be found. We embrace the lives around us and strive to be leaders as our parents have led us. We have an innate sense to help others in need and we all have hearts of service, lend a helping hand, and the ability to build dreams and establish purpose. This young couple promotes fundraising efforts in memory of their triplets, Emilio, Mateo and Lorenzo who died in infancy. Three low income projects in the Philippines have been completed in memory of the babies. Marlon and Brandi are very proud of their handsome and active 16 month old son, Presley, named after Marlon's favorite entertainer, Elvis Presley.

Marlon Austria is an eight-year veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served our country in combat during Operation Desert Storm. He earned a Masters of Business Administration degree from University of Phoenix with an emphasis in Technology Management and is currently with Hewlett Packard Company San Diego. In giving back to the community, Marlon has served on the Mira Mesa Town Council and the Mira Mesa Planning Group.

Brandi Austria is a 4th generation Mexican-American with a deep love and pride for her culture and extended family. She received her Bachelors of Science Nursing Degree from the University of Phoenix and is currently a Registered Nurse in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Sharp Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa. She is passionate about her work with the Reproductive Partners of UCSD Regional Fertility Center in La Jolla, CA.

Marlon and Brandi Austria learned about the mission and generous contributions of Encinitas based, Jonathan Tarr Foundation in 2012 after an introduction to Ms. Robin Tarr. They were instantaneously captivated by the initiatives of JTF and how one scholarship can drive and change the future of a student recipient and still commemorate one's life. The connection with Robin Tarr and the Austria's was no coincidence once their stories were exchanged. When Marlon and Brandi attended the JTF Class of 2013 Scholarship Awards in May to meet students, teachers, families and elected officials, they immediately wanted to hold hands with Jonathan Tarr Foundation.

Several San Diego organizations have benefited from their time, talent, and leadership roles in “Serving Country, Community and Family.”
